Rosa Roberts

Rosa Roberts’ large pastel drawings are about identity. They are about how the material things in our lives shape us, and about how we identify ourselves with and by brands, design, spaces, objects. What do our bedrooms say about us? What do they say about how we relate to others? Her works are also about inadequacy. They are about people in cities surrounded by images of beautiful things they will never have, and ideals they will never live up to. They are about wanting and hoping one day to be better.
